Golf Overview

A classic site for golf, Sky Valley opened over 40 years ago.  The original design by course architect, Bill Watts capitalized on the natural features in the valley long present before the vision of a golf course.  It is the highest course in Georgia and in the dog days of summer it is significantly cooler than courses elsewhere in the state.

In 2007 a major renovation and redesign was completed. Noted course designer, Bill Bergin transformed Sky Valley into a championship course. The first thing visitors notice are the lush textures of the new Sky Valley Country Club course.  Bergin was able to locate and utilize unused parcels of land to lengthen and flex the size of the golf course. 500 yards were added to the courses length which is now almost 7,000 yards. With 5 sets of tees the course is enjoyable for every level of player.

“Sky Valley can convincingly make a claim to be not only among the best mountain courses in Georgia, but among the best in the entire Southeast Mountain region." - GOLF GEORGIA (Official publication of The Georgia State Golf Association)

The new Sky Valley Country Club course has a golf learning center which includes a practice range and a large putting green.  Instruction available.

Sky Valley Country Club welcomes golf groups and outings with a full range of services from lodging to food and beverage.
